Wow, today was tight. I finally had time to sit around and just do some shiz. Good times.
I'd like to point out that seeing Transformers with Alex is easily the most fun I have had in ... a very, very long time. It was just like ... uber-geeky-awesomeness.

When Joe Smith gave me his livejournal password, i for one was frightend because my name was part of it. Now why would joe smith use my name..? I would geuss he would use JollyMan.... or Hotandheavyxxx.. something out of the ordinary. I'm sure you would agree.
I was just thinking about what i would be like if i didnt know Joe Smith. I definitely would not be ok with people patting me on the butt, not that people do.. but if they did.. it would almost feel normal. but maybe its only ok when Joe does it..i'm not to sure. I probably would tell people to be happy, not jolly.. decreasing the amount of wierd looks i get. Oh and the lovely text messages saying "What are you wearing....? ;)" what would i do without those? It's Christmas and i got an easy bake oven... time to cook. : )

I would say I'll make this a quick post and write more later, but we all know that won't happen.
In Summary:
I have no idea what my mother does all day. When my old man left, I took on the added responsibilities of being a father to my siblings, which is pretty much the same as an older brother with more handy man jobs. But lately, my mother doesn't seem to be doing anything except mumble about my father, yell at me for being uncaring and causing the divorce, making me calm her down after she gets mad at Michelle and/or Vanessa (my sisters) for apparently no true reason (she started screeching at Vanessa when she asked if her friends could come over once...), pretend to do some sort of budgeting/divorce paperwork, and surf americansingles.com or something. (note to the ladies: don't EVER use that site. Sometimes when I've gone on her computer to fix something for her, she's kept some of the windows open. there are NO hot guys on there)
So this pretty much means I get to be a mother too. Vacuuming, laundry (my sisters do most of it though), dishes, trash cans (one of my old jobs), picking up/dropping off my sisters everywhere, buying groceries (yes, it's gotten to the point where the Smith household no longer has edible food, so I have to buy food. for those of you that know how much I eat, and that i'll eat pretty much everything, that should mean something.), and tucking in my sisters at night (which I don't mind doing in the least, so you know).
You'd think that'd be enough; but ohhh no. not for Joe. (rhyme sorta intended) This is the second important note for the ladies: don't play hard to get ... if you already ARE hard to effing get. If a man tells you, "I'll get you out of class and we can go hang out for a bit, because we won't have another opprotunity to see each other for several weeks"
You don't say, "no, I need to go back to the class that finished taking its final. So we're just going to be sitting around talking and throwing paper airplanes or something." As you're wrapping yourself around him and trying to kiss him, while he's backing away telling you to stop.
Now, I really hope there's a valid reason for this, because I don't have time to play games like that. You play 'hard to get' to make someone want you (or to lead them on). But if they already want you, you shouldn't do that too often. Like every other day for the past week. Because they'll get really pissed off and never speak to you again. And I don't get pissed, let alone angry, easily.
Anyways...
Here's what my rough schedule was:
06/15/06 8:00 AM - Milo (my new Jack Russel puppy) tries to ambush me by running into my room and leaping onto my bed. after he runs through the sprinklers. thank heavens I heard him coming and woke up in time. It's a good thing he's so cute, or I may have had to lay the smack down. (hm. that sounds familiar. *glances to above paragraph)
9:00 AM to 2:49 PM - Working on Hahn/Canyon visits for transcripts
2:53 - Go with Alex to turn in Hahn
3:00 - Fred Kelly
4:00 Graduation
6:30 - Go home, get yelled at by mother because the checking account is empty. (I gave her $400 to write me a check for Chapman housing, and she still hasn't written me the check.) Why she's yelling at me is beyond anyone's reckoning. Thank heavens this really awesome friend of my mom's is there, and she's pretty much an older, female version of me. Thank heavens she doesn't have to worry about hurting my mom's feelings, so she can tell her she's being preposterous.
7:00 Tayor Mackay's graduation party
9:30 - Grad Night. Realize my mother never actually signed the permission slips, even though she promised to take care of it.
10:00 - Grad Night. (For real, this time.)
06/16/06
6:00 - School
6:15 - Gym (lifted upper)
7:00 Home
7:15 - dropped vanessa off at crescent (she needs to help set up for her promotion since she's on student council)
7:25 - shower
8:30 - finished typing this jargon
APPROXIMATIONS
8:45 - Vanessa's 6th Grade Promotion
9:30 - Get check from mother
10:30 - Drop off Housing stuff at Chapman
11:00 - Call Guitar Center to replace effects pedal/Call El Rancho because my mother never signed up Vanessa for Bridge.
12:00 - no idea, but probably something ridiculous ~_~
This probably has grammatical/spelling errors that would make me cringe, but I've gotta get going. Maybe I'll go for 72 hours without sleep.
P.S. - Finally started using podcasts recently. They're sweet. Highly recommended. Ask me if you want a few good ones.

Psych CH 9 T/F
1. Memory storage is never automatic; it always takes effort F – Intrinsic and Extrinsic Memory. There are people out there with a very strange type of amnesia. These poor kids cannot make new memories. Example: One guy was asked to do the Towers of Hanoi puzzle. He had already done it several times before, but thought that he had never seen it. He kept saying how hard it was going to be, but completed it in only a few moments. His extrinsic memory, or what he consciously remembered, was absolutely no good. However, his body remembered, enabling him to quickly complete the puzzle.
2. When people go around a circle saying their names, their poorest memories are for what was said by the person just before them T- They focus on preparing what they will say. People get nervous and rehearse what they're going to do, ignoring the person in front of them. If you’re ever in this situation, I highly recommend just going up to the person afterward and ask for their name again, just in case. But if you’re shy, you can just ignore them and pray you never speak to them again. But if she’s really cute, you really should already have her number. I mean … um … … NEXT QUESTION PLEASE.
3. Memory aids (for example, those that use imagery & devices for organization) are no more useful than simple rehearsal of info False - Think of the activities we did in class. The kids that thought of an image to go along with a sentence had a much higher memorization percentage than us poor saps that just kept repeating the sentences. That one, bun, two, shoe thing actually works too. That was so trippy. Thanks for telling us there were only 12 things too Mr. Dale. Goodness.
4. Few people have any type of photographic memory False - Darn people and their memory skills ... Photographic memories are so pro. If you've ever heard "he'll never forget a face," this is when it comes into play. Alex just mentioned something about the serial position effect. The serial position effect is when someone remembers the first and last items on a list. How this has anything to do with photographic memory, I have no idea.
5. Although out capacity for storing info is large, we are still limited in the number of permanent memories we can form F- Total bologna. We may get dimmer, but your brain can store soooo much, it's ridiculous. Although some scien-- Actually, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes made this assumption. He thought that a mind was like an attic, which could be filled eventually, it is actually like a REALLY REALLY big attic. So big, you won't fill it up. Of course, it'll get really messy. Just like my car was before I cleaned it. *pats self on back*
6. Our experiences are etched on our brain, just as the grooves on a record receive & retain recorded messages F - I almost didn't remember that. This is entirely false. As much as we might like our memories to be infallible, they are not. If you recall hearing about Clarence Thomas' (Supreme Court Justice) Senate Hearing, he was getting charged with sexual harassment. The woman described it quite clearly, but Thomas also described it with equal clarity. It could be that both parties remembered the same incident entirely differently. (It did occur several years earlier, so I suppose you can't blame them. *shrug* crazy government officials ....) For something more personal, you may not remember hearing your mother telling you to take out the trash, but dang does she remember. Or … at least she says she remembers … *grumble mumble*
7.
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT DRINK, HAVE NOT HAD A DRINK, AND DON’T PLAN ON DRINKING AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE. I think I’m crazy enough already. <3
When people learn something while intoxicated, they recall it best when again intoxicated T - WTF. Nigga, I don't even know the answer to this one. HOWEVER. From what I’ve seen, people don't remember SHIT. To those who have experienced blackouts the day after, you know that the night before must’ve been crazy, but not much else. Also, how many times do you get drunk and say, "OH DUDE. I JUST REMEMBERED. LAST TIME I GOT SHITFACED I.... *insert random thing about streaking with women/throwing light switch raves/burying a corndog for later use*"*(thanks to Alex for the rave and tom for the corndog.) Alex just reminded me about the whole "situational" thing. If someone memorizes something underwater (there was a group of divers being experimented on) they'll remember it best underwater. That's why it's better to take tests in the class you learned stuff in. (Though that never helps me any ...)
*shrug* you make the call. I'm not actually looking in the book, except for what I wrote for #9 and #10.
8. The hour before sleep is a good time to commit info to memory T- Indeed. NOT the MOMENT before sleep, because your brain shuts down. About an hour is good, and the sleep helps compile your memory. I usually read before I fall asleep, so I sometimes have to backtrack in the novel a little to try to remember what in heavens name is going on. Also, Sandesh said he tried studying an hour before going to bed, and he did pretty well on his psych quiz if I recall correctly.
9. How confident eye witnesses are about what they saw is an important predictor of their accuracy F- Bologna. If you've seen "My Cousin Vinnie," a movie about two guys charged with stealing a car, each of those eyewitnesses were entirely certain of what they saw, but it was proven that they could not be entirely sure of what they thought they knew for sure. (Sentence made confusing on purpose.) (For example, this poor old lady thought she saw the two thieves at 100 yards, but she couldn't even tell how many fingers someone was holding up at 10 ft or yards.) EXACT BOOK QUOTE - "Confident may be the most persuasive, but not neccesarily the most accurate." ALSO – SEE #6.
10. Children, typically will repress any memory of having seen one of their parents being murdered F -
Book Answer:
In a 1995 study performed by psychologist Linda Meyer Williams, 129 women who were reported to have experienced childhood sexual abuse (sexual intercourse or fondling) were interviewed. Of those, 49 victims, or 38% did not spontaneously recall the specific recorded incident of their own abuse, though most did recall experiencing other sexual traumas. Although a heatedly debated topic, current evidence points to not repression, but firm etching in the mind. In 1647, Balthasar Gracian put it best, "The things we remember best ... are those better forgotten."
Joe Answer: Bruce Wayne never repressed shit. Come on, the guy's a freaking hardass. Lucky kid ... being taught by ninjas ... *jealous face*.

Same format as the last one. (which has been updated rather recently, btw.) these convos... could get pretty weird, so read at your own peril. Example:
Tom: Joe, did you just touch my ass? Joe: Tom, from where I'm standing, that would be a physical impossibility. Tom: Joe ... you're standing right behind me ...
End Example.

After a few minutes more than 75 hours of recorded playing time, I've beaten Final Fantasy X. Damn did it take me forever. Alex and Daniel ... you guys can no longer make fun of me.
Firecracker race tomorro-- ... today at 7 AM or something. I think I'm going to go for the 10k (6 miles) just to be hard like Mr. Nick (If I can wake up).
Apparently, Sandesh is coming to my house at 4 this morning because he's out late at someone's house and doesn't want to sneak back home. That should be ... great fun. I'm debating whether or not I want to stay awake and lay a trap for him or something, but I think I'll need all my energy for tomorrow, what with Kedar and Shivu coming back and all.
Thus, we conclude another of my "Holy crap it's so frickin' late but I really can't sleep because I'm high on lack of sleep or something" posts. Wow, I'm really not making sense. Good night/morning/Independence Day everyone ...

Go take a look at Long's lj for an explanation to my topic for this post. Well, it's certainly been an interesting year, but I'll leave all of the sentimentality to everyone else. Instead, I'll give you all a random, sorta funny post.
Last night, I went to sleep at 7. Not seven in the morning, but 7 P.M. and woke up at 7 A.M. I really have a darn random sleep schedule ... Robby: Wow Joe, I really can tell you've gotten more sleep. You don't look delirious, and it seems like you're actually paying attention to driving!!! (Stated as I execute some crazy manuever rather deftly) Joe: You're right! (glances into mirror) Hey look! I don't have those dark circles under my eyes!!! =D Robby: Yes Joe, that's why people don't go to sleep at 5 A.M. =/ (see post below for what happens when I do that ...)
*sigh* good times. Also, my music collection has exceeded 1500 songs, 100 hours, and 12 Gigabytes ... oh dear, lol. I did that audioscrobabobber thingy that Kyle posted about, it looks kinda sorta interesting. I used the picture someone has on his lj of me in Perky as my user pic. Whoever took that photo must be a LOUSY photographer ... (jk! <5!!!)
The History of Film prior to 1945 class I'm taking is turning out to be darn interesting. I think I'm the only one paying attention in there (Sandesh doodles all over my notes, and Suki is trying to fend off my groping hands ... =D) but I really think it's spiffy. Those were the days when actors were truly acting, and directors cared more for the content than the lives of their actors ... (alright, maybe it's a good thing that changed, but it just shows the dedication.
I finally signed Kedarnath's yearbook in Perky today, and left him 8 pages of love. (You're welcome kedar!) I'm going paintballing with him, angelo, and several other guys, so it should be interesting. here's an excerpt from what I wrote in his yearbook:
" You know Keddy, I bet that Friday is going to be really fun. I bet you guys are all going to gang up on me, and get me back for everything I've done to you guys. I can imagine it now ...
Image blurs into Joe's random daydream ... Kedar: RUB THIS YOU FLAMING HOMOSEXUAL!!! Joe: But Ke-- OW! Kedar! I lov--- OWWW! OW! love you!!! Kedar/Angelo/Josh Soliz/everyone else: *maniacal cackle* Daydream blacks out to the sound of furiously firing paintball guns, random kicks, and some birthday boy running around either telling people to leave me alone, or egging everyone on Yep, that sounds about right. Well, I can't wait for it! *rub rub* "
Doo doo doo, I like how it's already 11:20, it looks like I do have the most retarded sleep pattern. I think I'm going to go pretend to study for the Eckert final/edit out all of the gay references that somehow slipped in here.
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 *rub rub*
P.S. Read the AIM convo entry a few posts down, I've updated it.
